When a deck of images is the right tool
Not every presentation starts in PowerPoint. Designers export finished slides from Figma or Illustrator as PNG, teachers photograph whiteboards, analysts save charts from dashboards, and conference organisers receive slides as images from speakers. Inserting dozens of pictures into PowerPoint by hand, then resizing each to fill the slide, is slow. This converter does exactly that step in one go and produces a deck that behaves like any other: you can add transitions, speaker notes and a title slide afterwards.
How the PPTX is generated
The converter uses the python-pptx library to build the file from scratch. For each PNG it reads the pixel dimensions, sets the slide width and height to those dimensions divided by 96, adds a blank slide and places the picture at the top-left corner stretched to the slide width. Because width and height are derived from the same image, the picture fills the slide exactly without distortion. The PNG bytes are stored inside the PPTX package unchanged, which keeps transparency and lossless quality. The resulting file conforms to the Office Open XML standard and opens in every current presentation program.
Preparing images for a clean deck
- Export all images at the same resolution, typically 1920 by 1080 for 16:9 or 1600 by 1200 for 4:3, so slides have one size.
- Use PNG for screenshots, diagrams and text; JPG for photographs where file size matters.
- Keep text in images at least 24 pixels high at 1080p, or it becomes unreadable on a projector.
- Name files in sequence to make reordering unnecessary.
- Remove alpha transparency if the deck will be exported to PDF with an older tool, since some flatten it to black.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I control the order of the slides?
Slides are created in the order the files are processed, which generally follows the upload order but is not guaranteed for large batches. If order matters, number the files (01.png, 02.png) and check the deck after conversion; reordering slides in PowerPoint's slide sorter takes seconds.
What slide size does the deck have?
Each slide is sized to its image at 96 pixels per inch. A 1920 by 1080 screenshot produces a 20 by 11.25 inch slide, which is the standard 16:9 ratio. A 1200 by 1600 portrait image produces a portrait slide. If you need every slide to be the same size, resize the images to a common resolution before uploading.
Can I edit the text in the images afterwards?
No. A PNG is a picture, so text in it stays a picture in PowerPoint. If you need editable text, run the images through our image to text (OCR) converter and paste the result into text boxes, or convert the original document rather than screenshots of it.
Is there a limit on the number of images?
There is no fixed limit. Decks with 100 or more slides are fine; the file simply grows by the size of the images. PowerPoint handles PPTX files of several hundred megabytes, although large decks are slow to email.
Does it work with JPG, GIF or screenshots from a phone?
This page accepts PNG. For JPEG photos use our JPG to PPTX converter, which works the same way. Phone screenshots are normally PNG and convert directly.
