EPS and PNG in Comparison:

The EPS, or Encapsulated Postscript Format, is a graphics file format for vector graphics. EPS is widely associated with Adobe Systems and is a high-resolution image format. Furthermore, it is natively supported by many printers. That's why EPS is still very popular, although it is available already since the 1980s. EPS is mainly used for printable documents.

PNG, on the other hand, is a raster image format that is very popular for sharing images over the web. PNG uses an indexed colors system and a lossless compression. All PNG files are open and it is not possible to implement copyright limitations within PNG files.

The image quality of PNGs is usually great unless you need to scale up the image size, in which case vector images like SVG are a better choice. Despite the great image quality, CMYK color images cannot be saved as a PNG image file.
